We were once again very glad to be invited to Ruth Day at Rock Your World Orchard this summer, courtesy of Christine Jackson. We were able to pick as many berries as we would use. Brooke and Margaret worked on picking some Saskatoon berries. Greg helped pick Saskatoons but preferred to eat them fresh off the bushes. Liam focussed on picking raspberries which were also delicious and cherries, which were quite tart!

Greg got to take a ride on the “Berry Bus” while others were still picking. It looks like he really enjoyed the ride! Everyone taste tested each berry and agreed that the Saskatoons and raspberries were great, most were not so sure about the sour cherries, but once they were incorporated into the baking, they were perfect.

The harvest was divided and shared between the three homes. What a great way to spend the day!
