SARCAN Recycling Depot

West Central Abilities operates a SARCAN Depot, which provides a local collection, processing and marketing system to recycle all ready to drink beverage containers, household paint with labels still on and electronics within our community.

SARCAN Recycling provides environmental protection, employment creation and economic development as Saskatchewan’s recycling solution. All materials received by SARCAN are recycled responsibly within North America; nothing is sent to landfills or shipped overseas. The SARCAN deposit system for beverage containers is one the most efficient and effective in North America!

Reminder to Customers:

All plastics are recyclable, however, SARCAN only recycles beverage containers for refund!

If not a BEVERAGE (drinkable) container, please place it in your Loraas blue bin.

Paint

SARCAN Recycling accept used paint for reusing and/or recycling. If the paint can be reused, we will put it on the paint exchange shelf at the depot for customers to take free of charge. If not reusable, we will recycle it.

Beverage Containers

SARCAN accepts all depsoit beverage containers for recycling. When you bring your empty beverage containers to SARCAN, you are refunded the deposit that was paid on the container at the time of purchase.

SARCAN Recycling collects end-of-life electronics for responsible recycling at all of its depots in accordance with the Province of Saskatchewan’s Environmental Management and Protection Act.

Battery Recycling

You’ll be shocked to see how many different types of household batteries you can recycle at SARCAN! Our depots are collection points for Call2Recycle Canada, Inc., a not-for-profit organization committed to protecting and preserving the environment through collecting and recycling consumer batteries.

Drop & Go

Drop & Go is a new service that SARCAN is offering at our SARCAN Depot in Kindersley. When the line gets long, Drop & Go is an easy way to drop off your containers without having to wait.

SARCAN staff will count your beverage containers; after you can either come back to pick up a cheque, or receive your deposit refunds through PayPal.

There is a one-time registration process to create an account. Please register here or register in the depot on your next visit.

With Drop & Go, you can come to SARCAN, skip the lines, drop off your
bags at your depot’s designated area and leave. It’s that easy!
