Stride is considered the first step in training for a career in the disability service sector and includes interactive online content, paired with group and individual sessions that are guided by an in-house Stride trainer.  Stride is designed to assist learners to build their confidence, understanding, and skills sets in a blended learning format.

Congratulations to Nichole Vergara, Nishil Pethani, Michelle Winacott, Kristine Varona, and Nicole Miranda on earning your Stride Certificates! This group started Stride in the spring and graduated the program in November.  They chose a potluck supper to celebrate their last session.  They have earned a certificate from Saskatchewan Polytech that will earn 10 credits towards the Disability Support Worker Certificate Program if they choose to further their education.

Stride is just one of the many training programs offered to West Central Abilities staff members to help them support the individuals served by the Agency. We know that staff can provide more person centred and professional support with more training. We are proud to have these newly Stride certified staff on our team! Another group of nine learners has just begun the Stride program, we are excited to see them grow as they progress through this course!
